About Womester

ABOUT US

World Moslem Studies Center

WOMESTER was established on 03 January 2019; known as one of the NGOs in Indonesia, Womester is engaged in research, education, community service, and cooperation. Its formation was pioneered by a group of lecturers and researchers from traditionalIslamic cultures who intensely discussed and developed thoughts in a more progressive and tolerant direction. With the establishment of Womester, the thoughts of lecturers and researchers are disseminated more strategically through media and networks. The chosen media include books, bulletins, and campaigns through print and electronic media. Meanwhile, the networks developed are youth communities from various backgrounds, Islamic boarding schools, and majelis taklim. Womester always stands within the framework of Wasathiyah Islam as a religion ‘rahmatan lil alamin.’ Therefore, all activities aim to encourage the realization of peace in diversity and the fulfillment of the basic rights of every human being. This movement is expected to be more widely felt and carried out by individuals, groups, and networks. Thus, more and more creative hands work together to achieve the goal
